Easy Does It is Ending 🤍

Hello art friends,

This year has been stock full of big experiences, and I've felt the shifts deep in my sense of self and in my creative practice. One thing that has come up clearly is my desire to simplify my focus. I want to give more attention, deeper attention, to my art. I want to learn – shifting toward what I don't know yet, instead of revisiting what I do. I'm starting to see that it's time for a break from teaching. I'm also realizing I simply have to do fewer things, which means letting go of some really good things that I love, like this, for now.

So, December 2025 will be the final month of Easy Does It. We're coming right in on completing four years(!) of this project. I'm feeling nostalgic for all the art we've made together, all the creative questions we've welcomed. Do you remember our first monthly guide post in January 2022, "How to Begin"? Or the first materials post on artist grade watercolors? Or "Starter Kit," the early post about what art supplies you need to get going?

Thank you so much for coming along with me, for supporting my work, for supporting your own work, being true to your creative voice, being honest and brave and getting into your body and making so many marks with me over the years.

To wrap things up, I will be going in and concluding everyone's paid memberships over the next couple of weeks so that nothing renews in January. If you're on an annual plan that has paid into 2026, I will do a prorated refund to the end of December 2025. And then all current paid members will get 6 months of complimentary access to the archive of posts, in case there are parts you were hoping to read/watch but haven't gotten to yet. This will end on June 30, 2026. Starting in January, I'm going to put a simple password up on the site ("swatch") to keep the content just for us.

One thing I've learned from hosting Easy Does It all these years is how much I love painting live with people. The monthly Live classes (our final one is this Saturday! December 13 at 12pm PT) are a highlight for me every time. I have tiny baby seedling ideas for teaching one-off or short-series live classes in the future, and I hope it works out for us to see each other again in one of those. If/when these classes come to be, I'll be sure to do a quick post/email here to let you know.

Other ways to stay in touch include my Patreon, my free newsletter, my website and Instagram.

Lastly, we're not done yet: I have 2 posts planned for December, along with our EDI Live class on Saturday. I hope you enjoy them.

Keep creating–

with love,
Brit
